3 Quick Phone Interview Tips

Ask yourself what kind of interviews do you like to listen to…?  Hopefully you say, entertaining and filled with a positive take away you can implement in your life, business or relationships. So why would it be any different when you get interviewed?  It isn’t…

Prepare yourself before the phone interview mentally, physically and emotionally.

Here are 3 Tips when you get interviewed over the phone:

Prepare yourself before the phone interview mentally, physically and emotionally.

1. Mentally: Clear your mind outside of what you are going to be talking about.  Make sure you have your main points you want to get across in the interview.  You want to paint the exact image of who you are and what you stand for.

2. Physically: Make sure you go to the bathroom before the interview and you are not hungry.  There is nothing worse than having the discomfort of having to use the facilities.  It does affect your mood and comfort level.  In the same regards hunger can affect your mood as well.  If you are asked a touching question you may respond badly because you are irritable.  Don’t let that be the case.  That would be out of character and not the image you want out on the marketplace.

Make sure you are standing and walk around.  It gets the juices flowing and you will be more animated and energetic.

3. Emotionally: It doesn’t matter what is going on in your life.  Have a positive outlook on the situation.  Be the spin doctor.  Listeners want to be inspired and it will help your personal brand and image.  Make it into a learning experience.  Have you ever heard this statement?  “I can’t believe they have such a positive outlook on life.  That is so inspiring.”  The listener perceives you as a HERO.  The world loves heroes.

There are many techniques and strategies you can do to prepare yourself for interviews.  These are just 3 quick tips to keep in mind before you do any interview.
